Maryland Deathfest is a four day festival, running from May 21st to May 24th. Over 80 bands are playing at 3 different venues in Baltimore City.
2 main stages will be located at 545 N. High Street (Edison parking lot), which is 1-2 blocks from the old location of Sonar. When a band finishes their set on one stage, another will start within a few minutes on the other stage, and this is how bands will be scheduled each day at the Edison Lot.
We will have a vendor village set up at the Edison Lot, which will be a combination of personal 10’x10’ tents and one larger tent that will serve as the “indoor” vendor room. All of the vendors will be located in one general area, so it will be easier to find any particular vendor that you’re looking for.
On Thursday, May 22nd, doom/stoner bands will be playing at Rams Head Live, located in the Power Plant Live! section of downtown Baltimore at 20 Market Pl. On Friday-Sunday, black/death metal bands will start playing here around the time Edison Lot is coming to a close.
On Thursday, death metal bands will be playing at Soundstage. Between Friday-Sunday, once again, we are doing a grind/hardcore/punk/ stage here, located across the street from Rams Head Live.
The Ottobar will be hosting the Maryland Deathfest pre-fest party on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. The evening will feature performances by Immolation, Misery Index, Black Breath, and Noisem, as well as a screening of the Maryland Deathfest documentary to kick off the evening. Tickets for this event will go on sale January 31, 2014 at 3pm EST. Doors at 7pm, documenary showing at 7:30pm, bands begin at 8pm.
Baltimore Soundstage will feature punk, hardcore and grind acts from all over the world. There will be no barricade separating the stage from the crowd at this venue.
