Maryland Deathfest is a four day festival, running from May 21st to May 24th.  Over 80 bands are playing at 3 different venues in Baltimore City. Tickets options are selling quickly. You can still combine remaining single-day options if multi-day options are sold out.

Metal Church

Metal Church is an American heavy metal band that is credited as a formative influence on the thrash metal sub-genre.

Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats

Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats are a psychedelic rock/doom/heavy metal band from Cambridge, UK.  Formed in 2009, their sound is heavily influenced by late 1960's/early 1970's heavy metal, in the vein of Black Sabbath, with a little vintage horror movie inspiration thrown into the mix.    Though they have only been around for a few years, three highly acclaimed full-length albums have helped them garner international attention, including a scheduled stint on a November 2013 European tour with Black Sabbath.

Tombs

Tombs is an experimental metal band from Brooklyn, New York, formed in 2007. They are best known for their sound which combines a mix of multiple metal styles which includes elements of black metal, hardcore, doom metal, and sludge metal.

In Solitude

In Solitude is a heavy metal band from Uppsala, Sweden.

Sacred Reich

Sacred Reich is a Phoenix, Arizona-based thrash metal band that formed in 1985.  They disbanded in 2000 but have since reuinted on the festival circuit across Europe and North America.

Atheist

Atheist is a death metal band from Florida, founded in 1984 by drummer Steve Flynn and singer/guitarist Kelly Shaefer. Atheist are noted for their highly technical playing style, often reminiscent of jazz.

The Obsessed

The Obsessed is a doom metal band from Maryland led by Scott "Wino" Weinrich, who also fronted Saint Vitus, Spirit Caravan, Place of Skulls, The Hidden Hand and W.I.N.O. Formed in 1976, they first split up in 1986 when Wino joined Saint Vitus, but reformed four years later.  They split in 1995, but reunited again in 2011 for several live shows.

Down

Down is an American heavy metal supergroup that formed in 1991 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The band's current lineup consists of vocalist Phil Anselmo, guitarist Pepper Keenan, guitarist Kirk Windstein, bassist Pat Bruders and drummer Jimmy Bower.
