Maryland Deathfest is a four day festival, running from May 22nd to May 25th. Over 80 bands are playing at 3 different venues in Baltimore City.

Mitochondrion
Mitochondrion is a death metal band from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, formed in 2003. A mitochondrion is an organelle that generates most of the cell's supply of adenosine triphosphate (ATP), used as a source of chemical energy. Mitochondrion introduced the death metal world to their brand of time-stretching, vitriolic, complex, brutal ambient sound. Eventually they would gain a reputation as one of Canada’s most devastating and creative death metal bands with the release of “Parasignosis” in 2011. Mitochondrion will be making their first appearance at Maryland Deathfest in 2014.
