Graves at Sea

Graves at Sea are a doom metal/sludge metal outfit from Phoenix, Arizona (now relocated to Oakland, California).  Originally formed in 2002, Graves at Sea disbanded for several years in 2008, but reformed again in 2012 with a new bass player and began writing new music.  Their style is characterized by extremely pained, slow, droning riffs, tortured vocals, and a swampy, sludgy sound.   Graves at Sea will be bringing their unique brand of doom and gloom to Maryland Deathfest in 2014.

Witchrist

Witchrist are a death/doom/black metal band from Auckland, New Zealand.  Formed in 2008, Witchrist shares half their lineup with fellow New Zealand "Doom Cult" members, Diocletian.  Playing a unique mix of blackened death metal mixed with epic doom, Witchrist incorporates the darker side of eastern Asian religions and mythology into their lyrical and artistic themes.  Their 2012 release, The Grand Tormentor, received high praises, and caught the attention of the international metal community.

Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats

Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats are a psychedelic rock/doom/heavy metal band from Cambridge, UK.  Formed in 2009, their sound is heavily influenced by late 1960's/early 1970's heavy metal, in the vein of Black Sabbath, with a little vintage horror movie inspiration thrown into the mix.    Though they have only been around for a few years, three highly acclaimed full-length albums have helped them garner international attention, including a scheduled stint on a November 2013 European tour with Black Sabbath.

Lair of the Minotaur

Lair of the Minotaur are a doom/sludge/thrash crossover band from Chicago, Illinois.  Their songs lyris are based on some of the bloodies tales in Greek mythology.  They have released four studio albums and have toured extensively in the U.S. and Europe.

Unearlthy Trance

Uneartly Trance were a doom/sludge act from Long Island, New York.  Unearthly Trance was named from the song "Crown of the Unearthly Trance", which was on the first Thralldom demo; two of three band members once played with Thralldom.  They were considered of the premier bands in the doom metal genre, however, they split up in 2012 after 12 years.

Sulaco

Formed in 2002, Rochester NY's Sulaco incorporates elements of death metal, grindcore, progressive rock, hardcore, doom, and noise rock into their songs.  

Howl

Howl is an American Doom metal band from Providence, Rhode Island, formed in 2006. Signing with Relapse Records in 2009, they released their debut full-length album, Full of Hell, in May 2010.

Jucifer

Jucifer is a two piece sludge metal band signed to Relapse Records. The band's members include Gazelle Amber Valentine on lead guitar and vocals, and her husband Edgar Livengood on drums. They travel in an RV and are "nomadic in nature", preferring to tour constantly, living in their tour vehicle, rather than following the normal practice of album release/tour/time at home.

Coffins is a death/doom metal band that formed in 1996 in Tokyo, Japan.  

Candlemass

Candlemass are a Swedish doom metal band.  Forming in 1984, they are one of the pioneering acts in doom metal, and are considered as originators of the style.  In an area of the world inundated with it's own unique styles of death metal and black metal, Candlemass created their own niche with their own distinctive style and sound, and they helped bring doom metal into the international spotlight.  Though they have been on occasional hiatus throughout their nearly 20 year history, they have been consistently playing live and recording since 2004.
